New Zealand Breakers Rebrand /
The New Zealand Breakers are a professional basketball team based in Auckland, NZ that compete in the National Basketball League (NBL). In 2018, the Breakers underwent a change in ownership and the new owners were looking to give the team a new look. We were fortunate enough to get the opportunity to propose a rebrand to ownership. The rebrand included new logos, uniforms, and a new home court mockup.

Logos /
Primary Logo
The wave element represents the two major harbors that surround the city of Auckland. The team’s current colors are black and light blue, which we modified to navy, royal blue, and cyan.
Secondary Logo
The star secondary logo represents the four stars found on New Zealand’s national flag. Sky Tower, the icon of Auckland’s skyline, is found within the star.
Alternate Logo
The alternate logo provides a cleaner font treatment, meant to be used on merchandise and alternate uniforms.
Uniforms /
Primary Uniforms
The primary uniforms feature the team logo across the player’s chest, the wave crest on the player’s shorts, and the four stars from the New Zealand flag on the player’s ribs. The home uniform is cyan, and the away uniform is white. Both uniforms feature navy accents.
Alternate Uniform
The alternate uniforms mirror the cleanliness and simplicity of the alternate logo. They are navy blue and feature the alternate logo on the chest and secondary logo on the shorts. The jerseys also feature a thin cyan strip down the ribs for a small pop of color.
Home Court /
The home court features the wave crest large at center court. Each baseline contains the NZ Breakers text logo, while each sideline has the Spark Arena logo. The Breakers play their home games at Spark Arena in Auckland.
